Leeds-based bed maker Spink & Edgar by Harrison Spinks is to provide beds to the first overseas John Lewis store in Dubai.

Spink & Edgar by Harrison Spinks produces mattresses from its factory in Leeds and has manufactured the beds that make up John Lewis’ Natural Collection.

Each of the mattresses combine innovative pocket springs and natural fillings, some come from Harrison Spinks’ 300-acre farm in Yorkshire, where the company has its own flock of sheep for the wool.

Graham Astle, sales director at Spink & Edgar, said: “Spink & Edgar has successfully supplied John Lewis with the most unique beds on the market for more than 20 years and in that time has become the company’s biggest supplier of beds.

“This is thanks to two main factors – firstly, our innovative pocket spring technology, which offers ultimate support and comfort and cannot be rivalled by our competitors.

“Secondly, by using the finest home-grown, natural fillings sourced from our own Yorkshire farm we’re able to completely control the quality of each material that goes into every mattress in the John Lewis Natural Collection, which again is something that other mattress makers cannot offer.

“Both the unique spring technology and growing natural fillings have led to Spink & Edgar by Harrison Spinks being recognised with two prestigious Queen’s awards for Enterprise in Innovation and Sustainable Development. We’re really proud to be bringing the John Lewis Natural Collection to Dubai and believe the range will be just as popular as it is in the UK.”
